In Britain tattoos used to be seen mainly on sailors, prisoners and bikers and they were considered a sign of being a rebel. Nowadays they are popular with all kinds of people and it's pretty normal to have a tattoo. The most popular tattoos are names of loved ones, Chinese and Japanese characters, stars and flower. There are also annual tattoos events that attract thousands of visitors, such as the International Tattoo Convention. Tattoos are not just for the young. Snapchat is an image messaging and multimedia mobile application created by Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy and Reggie Brown who where former students at Stanford University. They wanted to create a selfie app which allowed users to share images that were explicitly short-lived. The app was launched in September 2011; in 2016 the app achieved almost 10 million daily active users only in the UK.
